HBHS School Gateway

In response to the challenges we encountered with My School Portal and the constructive feedback from parents regarding MyEd and PlusPay, we are thrilled to share some exciting news. The School Gateway app is now live and available for download.

Developed by the same company responsible for our Management Information System, School Gateway boasts seamless integration with the data we maintain in school. Offering a unified Android, iOS, and web platform, it provides parents and guardians access to view attendance, achievements, sanctions, reports, results, timetable, and letters home. You can send us messages for free, complete information capture requests, make bookings for clubs or activities, and handle payments for various purposes, all within a single, user-friendly interface.

A notable advantage of School Gateway is its ability to display students from different schools in the same platform, eliminating the need for parents to log into multiple accounts. Given that some of our feeder schools also use this app, we anticipate significant benefits from this feature.
The School Gateway app is already operational, with student information readily available.

The set-up process is simple and will take no more than a couple of minutes:

  • Search for “School Gateway” in the Apple App Store/Google Play or on your phone go to (Apple) or (Android)
  • Install the app and if you are asked then say yes to “Allow Push Notifications”
  • When you launch School Gateway for the first time, please select ‘New User’ and enter the email address and mobile telephone number you have registered with the school
  • The system will send a PIN code to your phone; please enter this PIN code and the app will be activated for you.
  • As soon as you’ve got the system set-up, all of the text messages we send you will appear in the app; you’ll receive notifications/alerts as normal.

For those without a smartphone, an online version is accessible through the same site, although we recommend using the app for a more convenient communication experience.


Students can also have access to the School Gateway app, with a dedicated student view providing them with information about their timetable, attendance, achievements, sanctions, and reports.


If you wish for your child to have this access, their mobile phone number will need to be added to our School management system. Please complete the student access form to request this access; students will need to use their school login to access this form:

The School Connection app in Microsoft Teams empowers parents and guardians to engage, support, and monitor their child's learning at school. 
As a parent, you can stay up to date on: 

  • Assignments: upcoming, overdue, or recently completed

  • Assignment feedback, grades, or rubric feedback

  • Insights from the past month on digital activity, assignment turn-ins, and reading progress.

You must first download the Microsoft Teams mobile app to your mobile device. Then sign in to Teams with your personal email address that we hold on file for you. (Work emails aren't supported for School Connection.)

Parents Evening System is an online parent evening booking tool. By using Parents Evening System parents can choose their own appointment times from any internet connected device. Parents no longer need to rely on their child to make appointments, phone the school or wait to see the teacher. The system also features a fantastic automatic booking facility where it can book appointments for all your child’s teachers in one click.

The MyEd School app allows you to view information and keep up to date with what’s going on in our school. It allows you to view key information about your child’s school activity, including; attendance information, achievement and behaviour points, school reports and letters sent home. The app provides the ability to send and receive FREE messages to and from school via your mobile device. You can also make payments to your child's cashless catering account and pay for school trips via the MyEd app.

The school uses PlusPay to process payments from home for school meals and trips.

You can make payments to your child's PlusPay account using the MyEd app. If you are experiencing difficulties using this functionality, please contact the school.

Funds can be allocated to a child's dinner money balance or towards a trip. You are able to see the balance of your child's cashless catering account and also what they have bought in the restaurant. If your child has been allocated a place on a school trip, the school will issue an invitation to pay for this through PlusPay, and this will appear against your child when you log into your account.
