Term 5 News from the Humanities Faculty

Back to Overview
28 May

This term has seen the start of exam season for our GCSE and A Level students and staff across the faculty have been running a wide range of after school revision sessions to support students. These will continue to run right through exam season.

Additionally, the RE Department held a speech writing competition for Year 8 students who have been studying Martin Luther King Jr as part of their unit on Christians who have put their faith into action. Students studied his famous ‘I have a dream’ speech and then wrote their own speeches about their hopes and dreams for the future. The standard of their speeches was fantastic, and the competition was fierce. Each class voted for an overall winner and then students were shortlisted to read their speeches in front of Mrs Allen and Mrs Browning. Well done to all the students who won the class categories and were shortlisted for the final. Special congratulations go to Sandi and Harper who placed joint third, Albert who placed second and our overall winner Sapphire - who wrote a passionate speech about equal opportunities and basic rights for housing.
