Our year 12 Biology students returned to the University of Kent yesterday to take part in day 2 of the GENE project.
They modified a nanobody which could be used in a diagnostic test for the Covid virus. They then further developed their skills of carrying out SDS PAGE to see if their procedure had been successful.
We look forward to completing the project in our final session in July.

During the Spring Term, Crochet Club have been busy making Mothers' Day cards, baskets, ducks and even spring fashion.
Next term we will be working with granny squares and making bags, cushions and blankets. New members are always welcome. In the LRC after school until 4pm every Thursday and Friday lunchtime in Lecture Theatre.
If anyone has any balls of Double Knitting Yarn that they are not using, we would love to make use of them in Crochet Club.

We take safeguarding very seriously at Herne Bay High, and the safeguarding and wellbeing of our students is paramount to everything we do. This doesn't stop just because it is the school holidays.

Do you need help understanding your child’s needs? Do you want to meet other parents/carers of young people with SEND? Canterbury District STLS are working in close conjunction with the Family Hubs to provide Information, Advice and Support for all SEND children regardless of diagnosis.

Our Sports Partnership team ran their annual Hockey tournament on Wednesday, which saw 50 teams and over 300 children from our local Primary Schools participate throughout the day.
Well done to all who took part and thank you so much to Herne Bay Hockey Club who allowed the Partnership to use their wonderful facilities.

There is a new and exciting opportunity for young people living in Kent to develop a Youth Mental Health Forum.
Kent County Council is collaborating with NELFT, who deliver NHS children and young people’s mental health services in Kent (CAMHS) and are looking for young people between 11 - 17 years old to help shape and influence mental health services and decisions, helping to improve mental health for young people in Kent.
